  • Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper & A-Basin: Summit County Ski Transportation Guide

Summit County has four major ski areas within about 30 minutes of each other: Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin. A-Basin is known for one of the longest seasons in Colorado.

    Drive Times From DIA

    • Keystone: about 1.75 hours
    • Arapahoe Basin: about 1.75 to 2 hours
    • Copper Mountain: about 1.75 to 2 hours
    • Breckenridge: about 2 hours

    Flying Private?

Many skiers fly private into Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) or Denver-area private aviation terminals such as Centennial (APA). We meet your aircraft at the FBO and drive you straight to Summit County, with a black SUV for families or an executive Sprinter for larger parties and gear.

Tips for a Smooth Ski Trip

    • Land before early afternoon on Fridays to beat westbound mountain traffic.
    • Book holiday weeks (Christmas, New Year’s, Presidents’ Day, spring break) early.
    • Drink water and take the first day easy at altitude.
    • Tell us your exact ski and board count so we send the right vehicle.

See our Keystone and Copper Mountain transfer pages.

  • Breckenridge Ski Season 2026-27: DIA to Breckenridge Without the Stress

Colorado ski season usually opens in November, with Breckenridge Ski Resort typically opening its lifts from mid-November into early December depending on snow. Always check the official resort website for this winter’s exact opening day, lift hours and conditions.

    Getting From DIA to Breckenridge

Most visitors fly into Denver International Airport. The drive to Breckenridge is about 2 hours via I-70 and Highway 9 in good weather, but winter storms, Colorado’s traction and chain laws and Friday and Sunday ski traffic on I-70 can add hours. A private shuttle with an experienced mountain driver means nobody in your group has to drive a rental car in the snow.

    • Door to door from the DIA curb to your lodge or condo
    • Room for ski bags, boot bags and luggage
    • Flight tracking for delays
    • Grocery and ski rental stops on request
